One year...

...until I get to marry my favourite person who has ever existed. Love you, Aaron.

Missing Kaarina

Kaarina's trip to Halifax was so much fun. I really, really wish she still lived here! This post is long overdue, but it's the last bits and pieces of Kaarina's visit. Most of these photos were taken at Stillwell, but one was taken at The Good Food Emporium. Halifax has so many great bars and restaurants. Stillwell was particularly fun, as lots of our friends all showed up to see Ryan and Kaarina. And I love my friends, they are wonderful people. That red beer in the second photos is Rosée d'hibiscus from Dieu du Ciel in Quebec and it's amazing.

Findlay Friday

Findlay is still adorable and still enjoying summer. Phoenix arrived last night, so the two of them have been getting to know each other again. It's sweet.

Beach days

There are only a few things more enjoyable than hanging out at Crystal Crescent Beach with two of your favourite people in the world.

Weekend happenings

I love that Kaarina is in Halifax. And that Ryan has now arrived as well! I had the best weekend hanging out with this lady and our beautiful friends. These are just a few photos of a couple of the places we went this weekend: we had the most amazing drinks on Friday with everyone at The Drawing Room, located above The Henry House. Seriously, the best atmosphere and drinks if you're feeling fancy! We also had sushi at one of my favourite sushi restaurants, the B-well Sushi and Cafe. I love the laid back, coffee shop type atmosphere, the incredible ginger iced tea, and the delicious sushi, particularly the Rock-n-Roll. Lastly, we had a lovely lazy morning sipping coffee at Local Jo's before heading to the beach on Sunday! You can also read about our market adventure here. There's nothing quite like summer weekends, is there?

Summer market days

Summertime at the Halifax Seaport Farmer's Market is a magical thing. You can have your breakfast on the incredible rooftop patio while gazing at the stunning views of the harbour, there are more and more vendors set up outside, and you can walk across the street to Garrison Brewery and enjoy their fantastic beers on the patio, rather than just inside. But my favourite part about the Market in the summer is that you are surrounded by a riot of colourful rainbow produce. And this produce can lead to you creating the most delicious summer foods, like the beautiful salad my friend Kaarina made: local micro greens and nasturtium with raspberries and sweet roasted pumpkin seeds. There is really no better place to be than Halifax in the summertime, and Saturdays mornings at the market make summer even delightful.
