I love having coffee on grey mornings. Especially with ocean views as an added bonus.

Cupcakes

While my parents were visiting, we sampled all the cupcakes that Aaron's mom and I have been making to test recipes for the wedding. I am extremely happy to report that they are all delicious. In the photo above, you can see four of our five flavours! A few of them need a tiny bit of adjusting, but that's to be expected. Perhaps I will post the recipes once we have them down perfectly.

The perfect little house

One of my absolute favourite books when I was little was Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney. It inspired my life plan: travel the world, then live in a little house by the sea, and lastly and most importantly, do something to make the world a better or more beautiful place. I'm still working on the traveling and figuring out the best way to make the world a better place, but I think I have found the perfect little home by the sea. The downstairs is all open living space with huge windows facing the ocean, and the upstairs is a giant loft. I think this house was made for me.

Wild roses

Wild roses grow all over the place in Nova Scotia. I think they are the best smelling roses ever, especially when their floral scent is combined with the smell of the ocean.

Summer mornings

Perfect summer mornings include fresh flowers from the garden and homemade lattes.

Endless ocean

I spent the weekend away from the city, in my favourite small rural town by the sea again. I could spend hours and hours watching the waves and breathing in the salt air.

A special place

Heading back to this magical place tomorrow. So many exciting things will be happening here in the coming months!

Findlay Fridays!

It's super rainy, so Findlay has spent lots of time today watching the raindrops hit the windows! Currently, he's sitting on the kitchen table, staring at me while I type this. It's been a great week here, but made even better because Aaron is home! Also, earlier today, Findlay was featured on Cats of Instagram, which was very exciting! Have a good weekend, friends!

Dinner

All the fresh produce in the summer makes cooking dinner a lot more fun.

Rural.

I love getting out of the city, enjoying the fresh sea breeze, wildflowers, and spending time with my family (including their pets!) Small town Nova Scotia is so beautiful.

Ocean and clouds

I loved the weather this weekend. It hardly rained, it wasn't too hot, and we were treated to some incredible clouds over the ocean. I could not stop taking photos of the two infinite things together: sky and sea.

Weekend bliss

I spent the weekend visiting one of my favourite places in the planet. And it was fantastic. I love having such a magical place to escape to. It was made better by the fact that my mom is visiting, and we got to spend lots of time with her family. And Aaron also got back this weekend, so I am extremely happy! Nova Scotia is so beautiful in the summer. I have many more photos to share throughout this week of this breathtaking province.
