The final stop on our adventures the other day (after
Mahone Bay and
Lunenburg) was
Kejimkujik National Park. It was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful to spend a few hours hiking through the fresh snow. Our original plan was to hike along the lake, but the roads were not plowed very far into the park. We abandoned the car at the visitor's center, and walked to a trail that runs along the river, complete with a couple of little waterfalls! Hardly anyone had been on the trail so far that day, so most of the snow was pristine and untouched, sparkling in the sunlight. The sounds of the rushing river were soothing as we walked through the forest. It was a mixture of quiet and noise that made me feel completely at peace.
